nothing so far, I don't think they select the winner until December of 06 so that at least gives Poland some time

That's why Poland-Ukraine have a chance, because they've never hosted an event like this before.

Italy hosted the World Cup in 1990, so that in a way hurts their chances. Italy is probably the best bid, but UEFA may lean to the other two bids since they have never hosted an event like this before. It could be just what Poland needs to help its economy. Still a longshot though.

It's not so bad, we would get the first game, while they would get the last. Both games will be pretty big.

This discussion is all very nice but WHY DONT WE STOP KIDDING OURSELVES !!!!! Have you been to any Polish stadiums recently ?? Have you tried using the Polish infrastructure to get anywhere? Besides Stadion Slaski at present there are in my opinion no stadiums which would be suitable for hosting the tournament (look at Legia/Wisla for pity-sake). Do you think that Polish investment such as it is will be able to get us up to scratch even by 2012. I've not been to the Ukraine but I seriously doubt if they are any better. Please let's not be the laughing stock of the world by even pretending we are (or likely to be) ready !!

Come on man have a little faith in polska, thats why we never get anywhere because people have little faith in poland and what its cabable of. I agree the stadiums do suck. and it is possiable to build a worthy enough stadium by crunch time (Im not saying thats its going to a great yet but good enough) So lets have a little faith in polska for once. This is our country so lets have a little pride in good old Polska. :Polska:
