The draw was held today as you all know and we now have the groups and schedule for the matches. We can use this thread to follow everything revolving just the qualifiers. Also to note that there is a new format for the dates being played and matches are now going to be played on Friday or Saturday and then on Tuesday. The nine winners and the runner-up with the best record against the top five sides in their pool qualify directly for the final tournament with the eight remaining runner-ups playing playoff games.

Any early predictions?
I think the winners will be Germany, Russia, Italy, Romania, Sweden, Croatia, England, Portugal, and Spain. Group B seems very very weak compared to the others. Group A & I seem the toughest.

Pretty clear cut, winner wise I'd say... Group A: Germany Group B: Russia Group C: Italy Group D: France Group E: Netherlands Group F: Croatia Group G: Switzerland (going on a limb England will advance as one of the top 2nd placed teams Group H: Portugal Group I: Spain Personally, I think Group G is one of the most difficult. The Swiss always seem to surprise at any sport because they play a good system with good coaching, and Bulgaria, Wales and Montenegro are all capable of drawing or even upsetting England or Switzerland. That group will be close.

Honestly this time around the groups are really even but here are my $0.02.
Group A: Germany Group B: Russia (not by much though) Group C: Italy (more consistent then Serbia) Group D: Bosnia & Herzegovina (France is playing really bad these days) Group E: Netherlands Group F: Croatia Group G: England Group H: Portugal Group I: Spain

Your predictions look pretty spot on. I would just like to see Belgium upset group A.

These seem liek they are going to be pretty dull qualifiers right now, unless some teams really step up in the next year.

Yeah I agree, the groups are not very strong at all...but that is what happens with Euro...there are only so many strong European nations.
