Frankly, I don't think Robert could do any worse than he has this season. He's practically bottomed out. Of course the new car is to blame, because Heidfeld has only marginally done better. Another problem was motivation. He simply was not motivated to fight for points, and was annoyed with the car. Call it poor behaviour if you will, but I wouldn't feel very motivated either driving for a team thats gone next season. Other teams know that he's one of the most talented drivers out there, regardless of this season, and Renault was lucky to get him. I see him being back in the top 5 next season, for sure...

Renault hasn't been doing wonders either though.

Robert Kubica is one smart man.

He has negotiated a clause in his contract so that if next year Renault is not top 3 in the constructors championship that he will be able to leave and join another club.

I guess Renault msut be feeling pretty confident that they will do great things next year if they let him sign a contract like that.

Or maybe Robert refused to sign a contract without that type of insurance, to prevent years like he's had with BMW.

I don't know what to say about this one. Kubica is the better driver here and that will bring in more money for sure, but Putin probably doesn't care about the cash and just wants the Russian to suceed.
